DIY Valentine Preschool Learning Journal
In recent months, I have seen these learning journals popping up. I loved how they were so simple and fun to create by hand and you can make them themed however you’d like!
Being blessed with a few little ones who are at such a sweet stage of beginning learning, I love making these creativity preschool activity notebooks for them. I have made several of these notebooks personalized for these special little ones. These I printed on cardstock and laminated. I then cut out the pieces and added little velcro dots to them so the little ones can match and play. But after discovering these beautiful learning journals made from a sketchbook, I really wanted to make one!
I got so excited about it that I decided to just go for it and then I was able to share it with a special little one I get to see a few times each month! It was perfect timing as I was actually snowed in this last weekend- such a weird thing to say here in the south! I ordered these sketchbooks and then had to pull out all my craft supplies. By the end of the day I had a huge mess, but it was worth it!

I collected a lot of ideas from @ohheyletsplay and @collazo.learning and @itsmeganlevesque over on Instagram. I just loved what they did so much that I basically did the same layouts for a Valentine themed learning journal for this sweet preschooler! I loved adding some of my own ideas as the creative juices started flowing.
One of my favorite things – these adorable mini envelopes I got at the beginning of my creative lapbooking journey a couple years ago. I used these to store all the pieces to each page because I wanted this journal to be used over and over and not have the pieces glued down. This was just my preference, but you can do whatever you’d like.
I also got this adorable stamp punch for a few other projects I had I mind and it worked out perfectly for this project. I was so excited when I got to use it on these letter pages!

I focused on name recognition, letters and numbers, number words, and color words. I also added a fun tracing page! There are so many fun ideas for games, activities, and more on Pinterest and Instagram.
I’m looking forward to spring in a couple months because I get to add to this journal, changing up the activities and the theme. Plus, this little one will be four then and I can add more fun learning games as she catches on. She already is so good with her colors and her name, which is amazing!
Be sure to follow me on Instagram because I’m sure I’ll add another reel come spring with more fun activities in this learning journal!
If you are interested in the interactive notebooks similar to these learning journals, visit my etsy shop here where you can find a sweet preschool bundle for your little ones -already designed and ready to be printed and laminated. I also have several more fun homeschool printables as well as one-of-a-kind lapbook kits that I know your family will love!
These notebooks are so much fun for me and I love that they are interactive and reusable! This makes it perfect for your little one to sit beside you and work on their ‘school’ as you teach the big kids. I have loved these moments over the last few years of being a homeschool teacher and nanny – the moments when I had a little one beside me and one on my lap doing math, all while I was teaching the older ones!
Looking forward to the days ahead when it is my own little ones on my lap!
I hope this blesses you homeschool moms and any moms of busy little ones who really love to learn! Have fun and happy homeschooling!
