This spring, I have had the opportunity to teach kids from kindergarten to 4th grade all about the Middle Ages! It has been a blast reading together, doing crafts, and discussing so many of the amazing things that happened during the medieval times.
These books were the inspiration behind my little sister learning to read at only three years old. She would sit in her high chair and ‘read’ the stacks of books from memory. When she was turning four, she requested a ‘Cat in the Hat’ birthday – all her own idea! My mom and siblings and I were so excited and had the best fun making her birthday special for her. If you are a toddler mom always searching for ways to keep your little ones’ hands busy, then you probably have pompoms, pipe cleaners, and beads somewhere! If you do, then add what you can into a bin, give them some scoops, empty bowls, and plastic spoons and you have an amazingly simple sensory bin.

The nativity story is so special to me. I love our nativity set and always have loved setting it up with my mom each year. It held a special magic to me and still does. A magic born of years of childlike faith and joy.
