Interactive Lapbook Kits for Your Homeschool

What an exciting year it has been for me making all these lapbook kits for you and your family to enjoy!
If you are curious about lapbooking and what lap books are – visit my post here to learn more!
They are simple and easy to download and then print. Assembling the kits is just as easy – just cut out and tape them together. The elements are fun for kids to color in with coloring pencils to add to the uniqueness of the project.
I wanted to share a little more about these wonderful kits here and the variety of the ones I have made.
Novel Themed Basic Lapbook Kit
First, starting out with a simple novel-themed lapbook kit. This one is for your kids to use as a template for any novel they are reading. From simple children’s chapter books to upper elementary books, this one is a favorite and is so much fun to put together. Kids can add to it with their own elements, make a pocket for a book report, and so on!
Specific Novel Themed Lapbook Kits
Next are these wonderful novel-themed lapbook kits for your kids to make after they read these fun books. With great stories like the Sign of the Beaver, The Door in the Wall, The Secret Garden, Twenty-One Balloons, and so many more, these kits are full of specific elements from these stories! Use them on their own, with extra elements from the novel-themed kit, or again make and add your own elements!
These lap books are wonderful additions to children’s book clubs and for those doing a book study. You can find many of these book guides at Treehouse Schoolhouse.
Special Lapbooks for Family and Friends
These special lapbook kits are for kids to make about one person in their life….or all about them! They get to share fun facts about them like what their favorite things are, what they love to read, and a creative timeline of their life. This one is so much fun as you can see what your kiddos like about themselves!
Then they can make one for mom or dad. These are perfect gifts for birthdays or for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Kids get to fill in all sorts of elements with what they know about their parents. It is quite fun and entertaining to hear what they believe is Mom’s favorite food or what Dad does for work!
Newest Lapbook Kits
Now, for my newest lapbook kits!
A lapbook kit all about America with 12 brand new specific elements about this wonderful nation!
I really loved making this one with many unique elements listing this nation’s most famous monuments and buildings, as well as important documents and popular patriotic songs! Get this one in time for the 4th of July and your kiddos will have a fun unit study to do for this nation’s holiday!
This super special lapbook kit all about the Nativity is perfect for the holiday season. I love how this one is wonderful for kids to assemble as they listen to the greatest story being read aloud to them. Then they can use the silhouettes as storytelling pieces and make their own nativity scene. Such a sweet one to create.
Now for all the fans of Narnia! My first Chronicles of Narnia themed lapbook kit for the novel The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe!
This one brings the story to life and shows the lessons learned throughout this allegory. Also included is a wardrobe for a child to draw their own Narnia scene in! Such a fun activity as they listen to the story and later enjoy the movie.
Lapbook Assembly Tips
Here are a few tips I like to share about using these lapbook kits:
- First, print these kits on cardstock and fold the paper folder. Then tape a second piece of cardstock in the center over the fold.
- I like to have many of the elements already cut out and made for the kids. (Especially if your child is young and/or doesn’t love cutting.)
- Let your child get creative about where the elements go. It doesn’t matter at all and it is fun to see their creativity.
- Also, give your child the freedom to make their own elements to add to their lapbooks! It is so cool to see them come up with their own ideas.
Look at the gallery below for a little sneak peek into some of my most favorite elements in these lapbooks. There is so much to learn about when reading these special chapter books and kids can put it all together here! Learn about the qualities each character had, the themes covered in these books, the setting of the novel, and the survival tools that the main character used, and so much more!
I hope you and your kiddos are loving these kits as much as I am creating them! If you have any more ideas for these lapbooks or any children’s book you would love to have a lapbook kit for, then please let me know!
